From 5th until 7th November the WENRA workshop on regulatory aspects of decommissioning took place at and was co-sponsored by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment in Berlin.

More than 75 participants from more than 20 countries from Europe, North America and South East Asia attended about 20 presentations and took the chance for extensive discussions at the scene.

In her welcome address the hosting German minister, Svenja Schulze, congratulated WENRA for 20 years of continuously promoting nuclear safety and expressed her expectations that WENRA will continue to do so in the future.

In his closing remarks the current chair of WENRA-WGWD, Stefan Theis from Switzerland, highlighted the fruitful dialogue between all involved parties which -according to many feedbacks- made this meeting  successful.

The website of the workshop can be found here.

The presentations and proceedings will follow in due course. As soon as they are available, particpants of the workshop will be notified by email.
